The Road to Crossroad ….

It was a thing that he likes most..... Remembering the old memories but …….. Last night he drank five pint to knock him out in bed. Now he just woke up and was trying to revive some thoughts when was the last time that they saw each other. It was more than twenty long years that they haven't met. He recalls back again those times when they met somewhere along the hallway. She smiles to him and he smiles back to say his greetings. They stopped from walking and suddenly find themselves talking and taking seat on the sideways. He invited her once more to have some snacks at the canteen, more invites and so dates have been frequent till they find themselves into fantasies.

He got out of bed and went to the kitchen. He grasps for air and look for a cup. He filled the cup with water and drank as if it bottom up to the sink into his stomach and chest. He wanted to lie down again and wanted to go to slept but same thoughts mesmerize him and spellbound his guts to seat into the sala. He opens the TV to get news but he wanted to be quiet at the moment. His thoughts rekindle again why for all those long years he will go back again to the memories that haunted him most. It is maybe because he just did not show up and never bid goodbye nor say anything about it as to reasons why? That started the bizarre story.

Oh he tells to himself I got only one hour to prepare myself. Today he will return to his old school and surely they will see each other once more. They haven't seen each other for very long years. What could be the feeling he asked himself. It would be a breath taking moment for him. Would you stare at her and give that prominent smile when he knows she will be angry at him even at slight stare because of the thing of the past. He knows of all their batchmates maybe he will the only batchmate that she didn't wanted to see. Will panic grip his throat when their eyes will meet? What if she looks at him with strange look? He fears with extraordinary emotion that those excitements will only translate to boredom and despair. Will he attend into the affair? He remembers the other day when he browse into their e-group and had seen her picture. She looks different now. Her looks become matured and seems have put more weight. Would he able to recognize each other when they cross path? Would he smiles again just like when they first met? Time will heal wounds one friend told him once or worst is that the wound will never heal if you don’t forget the past.

He bounces back from his seat and pours some more water into his glass. He told to himself today they will cross path once again but only for a moment. Each now has different lives and both are happy with each other families. They can be friends. It depends he says if things have been forgiven. Would he have the courage to tell to say sorry this time when he fears how to approach her and to talk about it? What could be his dialogue when he would be given the chance? "I never hoped for anything because you belong to someone else but can we be friends? and let by gone be bygones". Years may have faded that passion. All he can offer now are not flowers but friendship. It a life experience that you discover once and brings you to maturity. And that life should move on further. Past maybe bitter but the past rekindles hope to bring you not to hallow but better future. We need to accept the realities that reunion reconnects us to the past but to adopt better relationship. Honesty. Respect. Perhaps at this time she could have a change of heart. And perhaps both will have a new perspective. Meeting may rekindle the past but the present may embroider a new beginning, all but again a new friendship. Nothing more beyond that. All that he prays for is that reunion could have happy ending that will bury the sad stories of the past into oblivion and start a new beginning. Think positively and surrender whatever anguish to enjoy the festivities. He will talk things out. He says without communication no friendship will ever emerge and in the absence of such will be a disaster to any relationship. What if she did not accept the apology? Seeing her is already a consolation and enough that he will be happy when he will ever remember those memories. If he could be forgiven he says it could a positive experience and happy ending. For sure the emotional upheaval that he had for years will be forever gone.

He picks his towel he decided that he will go to the shower. It is time to go he says "I will attend the reunion"¦
